A Comprehensive Look at Moriel Ministries’ Sketchy Finances

James Aloysius Prasch (he of the fake name ‘Jacob’ and the Walter Mitty life of pretending to be half Jewish) has had his pretend “Christian” ministry Moriel Ministries’ 2019 tax paperwork posted by America’s Internal Revenue Service after a several month delay due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The yearly look at Moriel’s finances has proven to be a fruitful endeavour since Graham Baldwin, in the midst of an investigation into Prasch’s severe and decades-long spiritual abuse, looked at the 2017 paperwork and immediately caught Prasch in a series of irrefutable lies, for his 2017 paperwork Moriel Ministries submitted themselves to the IRS showed that Prasch received ‘compensation’ for his work to the tune of $91,750USD after Prasch had idiotically and deceitfully claimed on camera to receive NO salary from Moriel:

“Now? I don’t take a salary from Moriel, I don’t take royalties from my tapes or books or anything like that. I can take an honorarium or a love offering if someone gives it but I can’t ask for it. I have a secular business…I work…as I always have.”

Jacob Prasch, 2014, Moriel Ministries video

Let’s take a look at that series of claims made by Prasch in a Moriel Ministries YouTube video in light of Moriel’s IRS forms, and compare Prasch’s claims with documented reality.

“I don’t take a salary from Moriel”

The claim is from the Prasch-run YouTube channel of Moriel Ministries (his channel that predated his more popular and attack-oriented channel Moriel TV) in a video dated 2nd August 2014, when Prasch stated he didn’t receive a salary from Moriel, whilst visibly looking uneasy, suddenly itchy and lost for words (signs a person is lying), yet according to the paperwork Moriel Ministries themselves compiled and submitted to the United States Internal Revenue Service, Prasch actually took ‘compensation’ for his work for Moriel to the tune of $43,600USD that very same year:

You can look at all Moriel’s submissions to the IRS on Propublica.org here, and you can download the full 2014 IRS paperwork for Moriel which the above image came from here:

Quite from not taking a salary from Moriel in 2014, 2014 was actually the first year Prasch first started to heavily squeeze the charitable donations to Moriel Ministries sponge, a squeeze that got firmer until he reached 6 figures in 2018:

  • 2013 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $780
  • 2014 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $43,600
  • 2015 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $99,059
  • 2016 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $67,350
  • 2017 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $91,750
  • 2018 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $147,000
  • 2019 ‘Compensation’ to Prasch from Moriel Ministries: $86,700
  • Total: $536,239USD

“I don’t take royalties from my tapes or books or anything like that.”

Prasch has in the above clip claimed he doesn’t take royalties from the sale of his intellectual properties he’s produced over the years, yet spiritual abuse counsellor Graham Baldwin, in his researching Prasch in 2018, found Prasch actually produced his books and then sold them for approximately 5 times the cost to produce, with the large profits becoming part of Moriel Ministries’ revenue, from the total of which Prasch’s over half a million dollars of ‘compensation’ was drawn, meaning the book sales did indeed become part of his income.

Moriel Ministries’ Tapes, Books, CDs & DVD Ministry costs and revenue by year:

  • 2013: Cost: $9,120 — Revenue: $35,217
  • 2014: Cost: $10,089 — Revenue: $110,794
  • 2015: Cost: $1,750 — Revenue: $123,301
  • 2016: Cost: $5,424 — Revenue: $20,650
  • 2017: Cost: $4,555 — Revenue: $27,485
  • 2018: Cost: $5,549 — Revenue: $22,280
  • 2019: Cost: $11,250 — Revenue: $16,167
  • Total Cost: $47,737 — Total Revenue: $355,894
  • Total Profit from Tapes, Books, CDs & DVDs: $308,157

“I can take an honorarium or a love offering if someone gives it, but I can’t ask for it.”

When Graham Baldwin first began to expose Moriel Ministries’ finances in Winter 2018 and on into Spring 2019, Prasch attempted to respond by getting his hair dyed and filming himself in a hotel on the road, engaging in obfuscation to blur his huge ‘compensation’ and proclaim it to be the result of funds ‘designated’ to him:

That 18th March 2019 admission was the subject of controversy as Prasch had farcically claimed the video had been posted months prior to Graham’s Winter 2018 exposé on Moriel’s finances, with Prasch stating it had been available publicly on Moriel TV’s ROKU channel since mid-Winter 2018, the almost zero viewing figures of that platform for Moriel becoming the subject of Episode 10 of my Jacob Prasch Exposed video series. In that above admission, Prasch claimed:

“Because I have a profile, some money comes to my own personal sup- ‘this is for Jac- a love offering for Jacob.’ Uhh, its probably, last year, was about $90,000USD.”

So Presch attributes his large salary designated funds of $90,000 to the fact that he has a “platform”, that being he is the face of Moriel, appears in nearly all their videos, and all the teaching is based upon his understandings, so fair enough it seems, until you realise Prasch isn’t the only man on such a huge salary designated fund gravy train, the other being David Lister his second in command who whilst appearing on every Moriel IRS document fails to appear anywhere else in the Moriel catalog other than 3 known appearances in online films contrasted to Prasch’s 1000+ appearances. The question that arises from this is if Prasch’s huge salary is attributed to his being the face of Moriel and having that overly-exposed platform, how can the comparatively unknown David Lister receive via designated funds/love offerings the following Prasch-rivalling half a million dollars:

  • 2003: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2004: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2005: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2006: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2007: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2008: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $0
  • 2009: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $18,000
  • 2010: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $20,000
  • 2011: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $16,000
  • 2012: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $29,600
  • 2013: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $30,100
  • 2014: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $48,100
  • 2015: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $73,100
  • 2016: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $63,200
  • 2017: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $87,100
  • 2018: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $90,000
  • 2019: ‘Compensation’ to Lister from Moriel Ministries: $50,000
  • Total ‘Compensation’ $525,200USD

On the IRS forms, Lister claims each year to work for Moriel between 35 and 40 hours a week, yet Prasch had claimed, remember, in the 2014 video that he and David Lister worked full time in secular jobs to ‘tent-make’:

So if in 2014 David Lister had a secular job he funded himself with, how did he find time to devote additional full-time working hours to Moriel Ministries, by his own declaration to the IRS each year? And how does a rarely-seen man who doesn’t have the same platform as Prasch rake in the same half a million dollars via random designated funds? AND how is it out of the 11 years Lister has received random designated funds from Moriel supporters, nearly half of those years those random designated funds from various donations across the world managed to tally up at the end of the financial year to flat sums of 18,000, 20,000, 16,000, 90,000 and 50,000? The chances of random donations via ‘designated funds’ totalling flat thousand figures 45% of the time is statistically as likely as winning the lottery half the time you enter.

“If people give a love offering or a contribution and they designate it, I’m allowed to accept it. But I’m not allowed to ask for it by the rules of Moriel.”

Prasch claims the rules of Moriel Ministries means he cannot ask for contributions or love offerings. If that were the reality, however, why was he caught in 2019 on a hot mic in New Zealand clearly panhandling for contributions at the end of a performance?:

So Prasch broke Moriel’s own rules, and in doing so implicated his New Zealand administrator Marguerite Moseley. If Prasch can be so brazen in front of a camera and an audience, what’s the probability that he’s more brazen behind the scenes?

“I have a secular business…I work…as I always have.”

Prasch claimed in the 2014 video to his disciples that he funded himself via a secular business. Firstly this raises the same issue as I’ve raised about David Lister’s similar claim, that being the difficulty for men in the 60s doing 35-40 hours a week for Moriel Ministries, and additional part to full-time work in their alleged secular jobs. So they’ve spent 10+ years doing 70-80 hours of work a week? If that’s so they’d keel over dead considering Prasch can barely move, and Lister is also impaired physically by being morbidly obese, to the point that both need to fly business class or have to buy two economy seats, one for each bum cheek. And the second major problem being Prasch admitting to his Ultra disciple Amos Farrell in early 2020 what his tent-making secular business actually was:

Prasch in that video stated his secular business amounted to owning 3 websites, which he claimed were “profit-generating” and had provided sufficient income over the years to put his now adult children through private school and law school. I took Prasch up on his call to check out the websites as proof of his claims, and I found that quite from being worth “formidable amounts of money”, the 3 websites had a combined worth of just $2,212, and historically had alternated between being used by Prasch as mirrors to his Moriel Ministries website and thug-level cybersquatting websites hoping to weasel $1,500,000USD out of the Government of South Africa! Here is my research:

From my own research I’ve found time and again that nothing Prasch utters about himself or his finances seems to hold up to scrutiny. Consider Prasch’s claim in this clip about the auditing of Moriel’s accounts around the world:

“Secondly, we have independently audited accounts in the UK and in the USA and in every other country, registered with the appropriate authorities.”

So that clip was from early 2020, and Prasch claims Moriel Ministries in all countries they operate have their accounts “independently audited”. The reality is Prasch’s New Zealand branch of Moriel didn’t remain “registered with the appropriate authorities” because in 2017 they were officially deregistered as a charity by the NZ Government due to Moriel not filing their accounts for THREE consecutive years:

When I raised this issue in this website blog in January 2020, Prasch quickly responded with some baloney claim that it was because his NZ admin had died, and his new team (the Moseleys) were presently starting Moriel NZ up again, despite them being at the helm of Moriel for just short of 5 years already, and today (March 29th 2021) it is 6+ years and Moriel NZ is still deregistered, meaning when Prasch stated in the above video (which was apparently filmed around New Year 2020 albeit the segment in question posted in mid March 2020) Prasch had therefore openly lied about Moriel being registered “in every country” they operate in, perhaps explaining why Prasch had to whisper to Marguerite to announce the charitable donations table in a country they are struck off the charity list in.

The accuracy of Prasch’s statements about his own charity are summed up in what’s also come to light regarding Moriel staffers who have had to actively hide Prasch’s extra-curricular ministry ‘spending’ when his potential misuse of charity funds was him running up bills in hotels (apparently when on tour) on strong liquor, leaving those admins having to pay for his excess in order to hide the bills and “protect” Prasch from the fallout of auditors AND church members finding out he was getting juiced on Jack Daniels:

The sheer absurdity of the situation however is seen most keenly in Prasch’s wilfully deaf and wilfully blind financial supporters who refuse to accept any evidence presented against Prasch, EVEN WHEN the evidence is Moriel’s own forms to the IRS declaring Prasch and Lister’s huge salaries! They finance a wicked, resolutely unrepetant career charlatan and fake Jew who openly committed visual forgery of a DNA report before their very eyes to keep his lucrative charade going! Truly “a fool and his money are soon parted.”
